The 5 points are granted under two conditions:

Step One: Self-Assessment of Eligibility Requirements for the Manitoba Entrepreneurship Program

The first step in applying for the Manitoba entrepreneurship pathway is to fill out the self-assessment form and answer questions regarding your educational background, work experience, asset level, and so on.

In fact, based on the factors required for the Manitoba entrepreneurship program, you should assess your situation and definitely meet the initial conditions of the program that we previously mentioned. Without meeting the necessary minimums, you cannot submit your application for this program.

After completing the self-assessment form, you receive a score up to 150, which is the maximum score.

Step 2: Researching the Business Concept and Filling Out the Relevant Form

A business concept is basically a description of a business idea that is intended to be implemented as a new business or the development of an existing one. Therefore, you need to research your business plan from the get-go and assess all its aspects.

At this stage, you need to complete the Business Concept Form and include the following items:

– A description of the business conditions you’ve identified in Manitoba.

– A description of the research that helped you identify this business as a suitable opportunity.

– A description of how your past experience, training, and previous business dealings will assist you in developing this business opportunity.

– A description of how you plan to invest in the desired business and an overview of your financing plans and the availability of cash assets.

– A description of how you will market your product or service.

– A description of the risk factors associated with the proposed business and an explanation of the risk management strategies to overcome them.

– A detailed description of how your proposed business will contribute to the economic growth of Manitoba.

Step 3: Submitting an Expression of Interest for the Manitoba Entrepreneur Program

At this stage, you need to submit your Expression of Interest along with your self-assessment form and business concept form to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) on the Manitoba government website.

If you do not meet the initial eligibility criteria for the Entrepreneur Program, your business concept will not be reviewed.

The MPNP responds to EOI submissions via email.

Step 4: Receiving an Invitation and Submitting a Complete Application for MPNP

If you meet the initial conditions of the Manitoba Entrepreneur Program and your business concept has been approved, MPNP will send you an official invitation letter (Official Letter of Advice to Apply – LAA). This invitation letter is your permission to apply for the provincial entrepreneur program.

Before submitting your main application for the Manitoba Entrepreneur Program, you need to ask one of the two designated third-party service providers in the province, which are tasked with evaluating the net worth of entrepreneurs, to assess your assets and verify their amount and sources.

From the moment you receive your invitation, you have 120 days to submit your complete application electronically to MPNP. MPNP does not accept paper documents. At this stage, you need to send all required program documents along with the third-party confirmation report and your business plan to MPNP. Your business plan should provide more detailed information than what you wrote in the business concept form.

Step Five: Signing a Business Performance Agreement with the province of Manitoba and receiving a support letter for the entrepreneur visa.

During the application review process, you may be asked to participate in an in-person interview with MPNP. If you succeed in the interview, you will need to sign a Business Performance Agreement with the province and commit to completing a set of tasks related to your business.

Then MPNP will issue you a Letter of Support. This letter is necessary for submitting your application for the Manitoba entrepreneur visa and obtaining a temporary work permit. The work permit application must be submitted to the federal immigration authority of Canada (IRCC).

Step Six: Starting your business in Manitoba.

After receiving your work visa and entering Canada, you will need to set up your business and regularly submit your performance reports to MPNP. MPNP may monitor ongoing activities related to establishing your business to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the agreement.

To successfully establish and start your business, you can make an appointment with the Business Consulting Unit (BCU) of the Manitoba Immigration and Economic Opportunities branch to get guidance and assistance.

Step Seven: Getting Provincial Nomination and Applying for Entrepreneurial Residency in Manitoba

If you fulfill all the commitments of the Performance Agreement, you will receive a Provincial Nomination Certificate from Manitoba. After that, you can apply for permanent residency in Canada and submit your application to the Federal Immigration Office of Canada (IRCC).

To get a temporary work visa through the Manitoba Entrepreneur Program, you’ll need the following documents:
