The Yukon Territory, located in the northwest of Canada, holds a legendary place in the nation’s history. The current population of Yukon is around 30,000, most of whom live in the capital city, Whitehorse. The main drivers of the economy in this territory are mining and tourism. The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) is the provincial immigration program for Yukon.

The YNP consists of the following programs:

Yukon Express Entry (YEE)

Skilled Worker

Critical Impact Worker

Business Nominee

Yukon Express Entry (YEE)

The YNP Express Entry program has increased the overall quota of the YNP by introducing an advanced selection option in the Express Entry immigration system. Employers in Yukon who cannot fill specialized job positions with Canadian citizens or permanent residents now have access to the IRCC’s applicant database. YEE applicants are selected from the Express Entry database based on having full-time, permanent job offers from eligible Yukon employers.

Skilled Worker

This program allows Yukon employers to sponsor foreign skilled workers for permanent residency in Canada. Employers can sponsor applicants who are working in one of the NOC (National Occupational Classification) level 0, A, or B jobs.

Critical Impact Worker

This program helps employers sponsor the immigration of workers with experience in high-demand semi-skilled or unskilled jobs for the area. Applicants must receive a job offer from one of the Yukon employers under sponsorship; however, there is no requirement to be present in Yukon at the time of application.

Business Nominee

This program is for people who have a proven business history and want to start a new business, cooperate with one of the existing businesses, or buy and start one of the existing businesses. Applicants must be prepared to make a significant investment based on their business in the Yukon.
