Key Takeaways

Today’s draw is the largest since September 4, when IRCC also issued 4,500 invitations to French-speaking candidates.
So far in 2025, French-language proficiency draws have consistently been the largest category-based draws under Express Entry — the biggest being the March 21 draw, where 7,500 invitations were issued.

To date, French-speaking candidates have received the highest number of ITAs under the Express Entry system — a total of 30,000 invitations as of today’s draw.

IRCC has announced that targets for Francophone immigration outside Quebec (mostly supported by these French-language category draws) will increase in 2026, suggesting that more French-focused draws may occur in the coming months.

Today’s round also marks the second draw in October, following a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on October 1, a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on September 29, and a Trades category draw on September 18.

So far in 2025, IRCC has issued a total of 70,338 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system.
