Manitoba PNP invites over 800 skilled workers to apply for nominations

This week, the province of Manitoba issued 862 invitations to skilled worker candidates through the Skilled Worker stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
Candidates were invited under both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways, through an occupation-specific draw and an employer-driven selection, respectively.
MPNP Draw Results
On October 9, 2025, Manitoba held Draw #255 (the first draw of the month), inviting a total of 862 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
Skilled Worker in Manitoba
A total of 583 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued in this draw to candidates currently employed in:
Healthcare-related occupations within Manitoba; or
Occupations corresponding to home support workers, caregivers, and related roles.
Eligible profiles were required to be employed in occupations that were either:
Included in the broad National Occupational Classification (NOC) group for health occupations, or
Matched the specific NOC description for home support workers, caregivers, and related occupations.
Category | Details |
---|---|
NOC code and title | 44101 – Home support workers, caregivers, and related occupations |
NOC Broad Occupational Category | 3 – Health occupations |
Skilled Worker Stream
An additional 279 LAAs were issued to candidates through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas pathways, who had declared being directly invited by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
The LAAs were distributed among candidates as follows:
Strategic Recruitment Initiative | LAAs Issued |
---|---|
Employer Services | 45 |
Francophone Community | 43 |
Regional Communities | 8 |
Ethnocultural Communities | 3 |
Temporary Public Policy (TPP) to facilitate work permits for prospective PNP candidates | 180 |
This marks the second consecutive round in which the MPNP prioritized TPP candidates through its skilled worker pathways.
Temporary Public Policy (TPP)
The temporary public policy enables the issuance of open work permits (OWPs) to skilled workers in provinces that have signed on to the initiative.
This policy is jointly supported by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Government of Manitoba.
Out of the 862 LAAs issued, 203 were given to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
Why Some Candidates May Not Have Received an Invitation
Even if a profile met the criteria for a draw, candidates may not have received an LAA for the following reasons:
Declaring a third-party language test but not providing a valid test number or using expired results; or
Declaring receipt of an invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative but not entering a valid invitation number.
Candidates working in regulated occupations were also required to hold the relevant Manitoba license.
Invited regulated professionals had to submit proof of completing all necessary licensing steps to maintain their invitation — failure to do so could result in application rejection.
Understanding This Week’s MPNP Selection Process
Occupation-specific draws allow Manitoba to target candidates currently employed in in-demand sectors to address labor shortages and support workforce stability.
The MPNP maintains a full list of in-demand occupations on its official website.
Strategic recruitment initiatives are employer-led processes that allow the MPNP to collaborate with employers, communities, and cultural organizations in Manitoba to identify overseas candidates with strong settlement potential in the province.
These candidates typically have specialized work experience needed in Manitoba’s labor market — although some may also be selected for their French language proficiency.
