Who can use the Manitoba work experience program?

If you fall into one of the categories below, you can use this program to immigrate to the province of Manitoba:

If you are a temporary foreign worker (TFW) who has worked for at least 6 months in occupations listed in Manitoba’s in-demand jobs.

If you have graduated outside of Manitoba and have worked for at least 12 months in occupations listed in Manitoba’s in-demand jobs that relate to your field of study, you can apply through this pathway.

If you are a temporary foreign worker who has worked for at least 12 months in occupations that are not included on Manitoba’s in-demand jobs list, you can apply through this pathway.

If you are a graduate of post-secondary institutions in Manitoba and have worked for at least 12 months in occupations that are not listed in Manitoba’s in-demand jobs list, you can apply to immigrate to Manitoba through this pathway.

2. Employer Direct Recruitment Program

Applicants for this pathway outside of Canada are interviewed by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) representative and a qualified employer from Manitoba. Applicants must receive an invitation to apply from the MPNP before applying through the Manitoba direct employer recruitment pathway.

Who can use the direct recruitment program?

You should have at least two years of relevant work experience in the job you are applying for in the last five years.

Or have more than 2 years of relevant experience. This experience will be evaluated by the employer.

Skilled Workers Overseas

1. Express Entry

This pathway is for individuals who have an active Express Entry profile. You also need to have work experience in a job that’s listed in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations.

Requirements for immigration to Manitoba through the Express Entry program:

You need to have an Express Entry profile and a job search code.

At least 6 months of work experience in one of the in-demand occupations.

CLB 7 for NOC TEER 0, 1 in Canadian job categories.

CLB 6 for NOC TEER 2, 3.

You should have an invitation to apply for Manitoba (MB ITA) or support from a close relative or friend who has lived in Manitoba for at least one year.

2. Human Capital

This program is for skilled foreign workers who have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations in Manitoba. To be eligible to immigrate to Manitoba through the Human Capital program, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

At least 6 months of work experience in one of the in-demand occupations.

CLB 7 for regulated occupations.

1. Career Employment

You must have graduated from a post-secondary institution in Manitoba in the last 3 years.

You need a job offer from an eligible MB employer with a contract of at least 1 year in one of the in-demand occupations related to your previous education.

You must have a language score of CLB 7 or higher.

You should have financial means to support yourself for 6 months.

2. Graduate Internship

If you are an international student with a master’s or doctoral degree from a university in Manitoba and have enrolled in internships, you can immigrate to the province of Manitoba through this route.

Graduates who have completed the Accelerate or Elevate internship program with Mitacs in Manitoba can apply for this program immediately after graduation, with or without a job offer. You also need to have a language score of CLB 7 or higher.

3. International Student Entrepreneur Pilot Program

Every year, this pilot program gives 20 international graduates in Manitoba the opportunity to pursue and establish their own businesses in Manitoba with a temporary work visa. So, let’s see what criteria you need to meet:

Morden Community Driven Initiative

Morden, Manitoba, is a city located 112 kilometers southwest of Winnipeg. This city is actively seeking to welcome immigrants. To qualify, you must meet age, education, language, and work experience requirements.

One important note about this immigration program in Manitoba is that you should not have any ties to other parts of Canada.

The conditions for immigration to Manitoba through the Manitoba Pilot Initiative Program are:

You need to have at least three years of your five years of experience as an active business owner or senior management in a successful business.

You need to be between 21 and 45 years old.

You must have 10,000 dollars for the main applicant and 2,000 dollars for each person accompanying you.

You need to have a federal Express Entry profile.

A language score of CLB 7 is required.

In the past five years, you must have two years of work experience in your target occupation.

How does the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) work for immigration to Manitoba?

To immigrate to Manitoba through the Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), you first need to submit your expression of interest (EOI). At this stage, you will answer a series of questions online, and based on your answers, you will receive a score.

After that, candidates with the highest scores will be invited to submit their applications. If successful, you will receive a provincial nomination from Manitoba.

You can then use this nomination to apply directly to the federal government of Canada for a permanent residency visa for yourself and your family. If you are an Express Entry candidate, you can do this through the Express Entry system.

The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act requires all immigration representatives who provide immigration services to Canada for a fee to be registered with the appropriate regulatory body and be in good standing.
